Trickle Charger

What are the thoughts/recommendations on trickle chargers for a 981 Cayman?

I use an Optimate for my bikes and have done for years as they tend to have smaller batteries. However I notice there are numerous posts about keeping the Porsche batteries topped up, somet I’ve never bothered about on a car.

My car sits outside but easy enough to connect, would folk advise an Optimate or Ctek?
As I mentioned, I have used various Optimates for over 25 yrs odd no problems, but interested to hear anyone’s has genuine advantage/disadvantages on either make.

Ctek make the Porsche branded chargers, or at least used to, so I think that's why they're popular with Porsche owners. I had to resort to an old Optimate from my biking days during the first lockdown, but other wise I don't bother with a trickle charger.

For reference, my car lives outside and gets used at least one every 3 weeks all year round. It's 5+ years old and still on the original battery, which works just fine. Unless you car is going to be parked up for at least a month it should be OK if the battery is healthy.

I do have a jump-start pack in the house in case of emergencies though.
