Transmission oil change

I am planning a gearbox oil change to install the magic Swepco.

Two points occur to me - (1) the car needs to be level when I check at the filler plug and (2) getting the oil in will require some ingenuity.

Any advice is welcome. I have access to trolley jacks, axle stands and compressed air, but not to a lift.

Sideways if the Swepco is not in a plastic bottle with a long tube attached transfer it to such a bottle and you will be able to 'squeeze' the oil in there from the side once the car is jacked up or preferably on axle stands. When the oil just starts to dribble out you have enough in there. You can measure the amount you need as you fill up anyway.
 
I used a metal oil syringe bought from Machine Mart - bit fiddly, but did the job.

Undo the fill plug before the drain. That way if it will not budge, you are not left with an empty transmission.

Fill the transmission with slightly more oil than is necessary, lower the car with the fill plug still out. Excess fuid will dribble out (onto your drip tray of course). Raise car back up, re-fit fill plug. Eh voila, the correct fluid level.

If your car has the G50, you may be better off with Mobil synthetic fluid. Swepco is best for the 915.

FYI - I have had confirmation that the Swepco 201, although best for 915 is also suitable for the synchro mechanism of the Getrag box. Also, since fitting to my car, the change has been smoother (especially 1-2 when cold)

Chris - is there a specific 'Mobil Synthetic' I should use for my G50?

Just checked in the garage - I used Mobil 1 SHC 75W-90.

I used after lots of recommendations from the users of the Pelican Parts forum. It did seem to improve the shift slightly, but I'm not talking a huge difference.
