Transmission and gearchange

Re-submitted due to hijacking . . .

Since getting the clutch changed I've been looking for a better gearchange too.
Changed over the bearing shell that the gear lever pivots from today and it has made the gear change a lot more positive.
The old one needed a certain amount of leverage to get it apart and I gently pressed in the new one using silcone grease and a vice.
As with any plastic part, it's not advisable to work on it in very cold weather.

I probably need to change the external gear change parts at the gearbox end but that will do for the moment and I'll see how it goes.
Has anyone tried doing this?

Yes that's important too, I forgot to mention that I had to change the gear lever too because it had broken before my ownership and someone had replaced the rod pivot with a bolt so there was slop in all directions - not ideal. It's hard to believe anyone could be rough enough with the gearchange to break it. It's only now got fixed because there were other priority jobs before.

I should have changed the pivot parts on the gearbox itself when I had the gearbox out for a clutch change - maybe I can still get to them?
