Looking forward to catching up with you Paul - see you there. Kind regards, Fraser.

Kev -- do you mean the time on track or the evening meal? Track action should start around 9am and the evening meal at the Alvanley Arms (see above for more info) will start at 6pm-ish --ie unfashionably early but as we are all finishing about 5pm it makes sense. I am always starving after a trackday!

Thanks Paul. I meant the track time start. An early start from Essex on Friday morning then !! Kev

Anymore for the meal after the trackday at 6pm? Also at this stage I plan to get to the Chinese in Hatchmere the night before but need to steer clear of the booze! The anticipation is building for this one and with a bit of luck I will have my first videocam set up -- all should be here tomorrow to install. Now I will be able to a) prove I am a driving god! b) capture the good or appalling driving of others for detailed analysis at the meal! Went for a Panasonic S150 unit recording to it's SD card - it has a remote so starting and stopping will be that bit easier. Picture quality should be good as it has 3 CCD's like a professional camera and Which rated it highly (got it as a manufacturers' refurbed item at half rrp off Amazon!)

Paul. Just getting my bullet cam set up sorted now....So ill be catching you , whilst your catching me.....[On video of course]....

Ok folks, here goes with the report... First off ,, it was great to meet so many folk , both new + regulars,+ put faces to usernames...+ GREAT to see Pete Empson had his car on the road.. Well done m8... There were 5 of us upholding the front runner banner. 4 / 968CS,s + a 944 "hybrid" The day dawn,d COLD but dry...+ bright sunshine...[:D] Ice on the roof of the car...BBBRrrrrr.... Anyway once at the circuit + after a quick peek over the pit wall, the excitement grew, it was BONE DRY + no ice on the circuit at all.. F.A B....Oulton is a difficult track in the dry let alone wet or greasy...And seeing as there would be some realy quick machinery circulating, the dry track was VERY welcome... The usual unloading of the car + set up for the days activities ensued,,,It can get a real chore sometimes ,, but well worth it... Followed by the usual signing on + drivers briefing.... Then. time to get on track....[:D][:D][:D][:D] Started out slow to get some heat into the tyres + brakes, then suddenly a stopage...damn...aparently a GT3 had taken a liking to the tyre barrier on lakeside,, aparently it wasnt pretty ..[:(][:(][:(][:(]. I hope the occupants are all ok..??? So a bit of adjustments to the suspension [ stiffening ] ensued, + after the restart , we got into the stride... LOTS of lappery was had, + numerous pax laps were given. I hope you folks that got rides enjoyed them as much as i did giving them...You all seemed to as there were lots of smiling faces upon dissembarking...[:D][:D][;)][;)] Just worked out that i did 60 laps of the circuit. At a fastest lap of 2.06 mins...For a road car with most of its acutriments still intackt,,thats pretty fast....[:D][:D][:D]. As the PCGB race cars are doing it in around 1.58 ish...Not that i was timing ,, of course... The car didnt miss a beat , it performed faultlessly all day...[:D][:D][:D], Just how it should.... There were some REALY nice bits of Pork at the circuit, either in the paddock [Although i didnt have any time to look at them as i was busy driving].[:D][:D][:D] , or out on track , being used properly...[;)][;)][;)]. And lots of entusiastic owners milling around all day long... The standard of driving on the whole was great, very curteous , just a few of the RS lads didnt want to look in there rear view mirrors, either that or they didnt want to be passed by a "suposedly" slower car...[;)][;)][:D][:D][;)][;)] Anyway. i hope those of you that came had as good a day as i did + heres to next years RS day.... Ive got a few pics of the day , ill post them later + also a bit of video... Dave, Good to meet you. I was the little chap with the red Sport that came and had a chat. Genuinely impressed with the speed of the 968's on the track, they seemed to be giving the RS's a run for their money ! Maybe next time I could catch a passenger lap or two ?! Simon
