trackday insurance

I am interested to ask you chaps how you cover your RS"s for Trackdays?
At present I am renewing my 993RS with Royal&Sunalliance via Performance Marque(as recommended by the Club). The quote is very competitive and includes free Porsche Club Trackday Cover @£700/yr
The problem comes when like myself , you wish to attend additional track days organised out side the club,by reputable organisations such as R.M.A etc and also take advantage of lower cost events held at the smaller circuits by the likes of Easytrack or Bookatrack etc.
The insurers will not offer any cover for these additional events evan if i offer to pay an additional premium .!! Specific Track insurance is avaliable with other companies to "Top up " but the 1st quote was £500 per day !!!!!!! Who is the best company to offer full track cover as a part of the road policy and at a reasonable price. Any ideas ????

Allowing for the fact that insurance is a market place,it never ceases to amaze me how they all seem to have differnt rules as they go along...........Aon when asked at renewal for 2 rs 's and a GT2 last monthe assured me that deal with Performance Marques no longer existed and i was lucky to get cover at all at cost per day car of abt £50k abt £50 car of £100plus max £105 inc vat ..................that is with 10 % excess...............10%0f value of car!................over and above regular Classic policy i am paying per track day !
Last year it was included in the RSA policy............restricted mileage for the 3 cars 15000mile just over £2000 which is nt that bad .......................

Titanic GT3 has addressed this requirement by shopping around and a lot of our business has been placed with Bickley insurance. Speak to Chris Wilkins on 0208 773 8123. Mention titanic and he will do his best for you. You don't need to own a GT3 by the way.

You have two options - Insure with Performance Marque and only do PCGB track days OR insure elsewhere and although you might pay slightly more for the insurance you gain by saving on the cost of track days and you also have the freedom to do the tracks you want, when you want. We are constantly discussing deals with insurance companies, track day organisers etc. Maybe I am old and confused but that's what I though a club was supposed to do...off to find a brick wall to bang my head against![&:]

Second the recommendation for Liverpool Victoria (trading as Frizzell). They confirmed any track day as long as no competition involved and they beat R&SA through PerformanceMarque by £200 for the Boxster and another £200 for the Turbo 4

Thanks for all your assistance Guys !!!
I will make enquiries and if i turn up any additional interesting options,i will keep you posted.

Cheers
John

Hi. Doing the phone around for insurance etc and there seems to be limited choice limited mileage policy with track day cover. Best so far has been Classic Line but yet to get through to Bickley, Liverpool Victoria and AON.

Car is currently fitted with an immobiliser only and and I am being asked for Thatcham cat 2. Any one have any thoughts on how best to do this and any good contacts in the West London area? There are lots of cat 2 alarms out there, can anyone recommend one?

Thanks

IIRC, thatcham 2 is just the immobiliser. Thatcham 1 is the higher category, with alarm and immobilisation.

If thatcham 2 you may be ok if you already have an immob.

Cheers
Dom
