Trying to trace history on above car if anyone has any info it would be gratfully recieved its Iris blue with grey leather interior
managed to get back to 2002 but then hit a blank wall its had varous numberplates first registered as L927 GNE then 3SL then back to L927 GNE then from 2002 its IIL 7378. Ive now run out of ideas after calling porsche gb and every dealer in the country, Im trying to find out where it was bought from and who bought it and owned it between 94 and 2002, Any ideas would be good cheers in advance Neil

For the first part of its life, check out the number it first had. 'NE' is Manchester so call round either of the 2 dealers again there, and ask for Parts Dept to key it in for you. If it's the correct no. the car had, you should get the info, no bother.

But if you have or can get the C2's VIN and quote that to the OPC, all the better. That's in the internal system and logged all the way back to the factory, so is the definitive source.

have done that and the earliest they could give me was 2002. porsche gb say it was one of there cars but no record of where it was looked after i can only imagine the supplying dealer has shut down or something. i have sent off to dvla for all prevous owners to see if i can contact them. thanks for replies guys

Certainly Bolton OPC wasn't around in 1994 but try them again, I would. A second opinion for the Parts Dept with your VIN. They would have no axe to grind, if even there is one to grind for any reason, so may be the happier of the 2 dealerships to help.

I've had excellent results from them on this very score some 3 or 4 times in the past, so perhaps you've just been unlucky in who you've landed on in the various dealerships you've tried? Ask for Dave on Parts at Bolton. Very helpful, very open, might just be your man.

Porsche GB will defo know which dealership they've supplied it to when you quote the VIN so itf they're cagey, perhaps offer to pay? Same principle (although maybe you're not the owner ?) as paying for a certificate of authenticity, ie VIN-based info.
