Tour To Tunisia

Boys,
I've signed up to do the Mille Et Un Nuits Tour in Tunisia (with summink other than a 911... 993 too new, wife won't contemplate riding shotgun in the 964 at 5m preggers) and I'm turning it into a bit of a major road trip which I wondered if anyone wished to wander along with parts or the whole:

Ultimate target is to be in Marseille on the 9th October to head off on the Mille Et Un Nuits. This is run by a super guy called Fenouil, who is a real child of the desert, Dakar legend (top 5 on a bike 3 times, top 5 in a car 3 times I think), was also the first guy to cross the Sahara on a motorbike, and holds the Trans Saharan record at over 100mph average!! He's launching this tour along with the Tunisian Tourist authority and already has 25 cars signed up for the first edition, (think max will be 35). It sounds pretty cool, drive in the countryside in the morning, stop somewhere scenic for lunch, then short stage to a hotel usually with pool and Spa facilities so co-pilot can be appropriately pampered!

But the car I'm taking (which hasn't turned a wheel in anger for about 20 years we think) I will collect in the Midlands at the end of the Tour Britannia (assuming the 924 Turbo we're building is finished in time!) and then head South. So plan is to be on a very early boat on the morning of Saturday 11th September, which means we'll be heading for Reims and the Revival weekend!
After Reims we'll take the Historic Monte Route as far as Langres and then motorway down to Beaune where I have a couple of buddies with vinyards I intend to drop in on for a spot of tasting.
Following morning head East out of Beaune and back on to the Historic Monte route down to Nice.

Anyone wishing to tag along is more than welcome, and if you want to do both parts, there is secure parking at my place down South for a few cars for the 4 weeks if you want to abandon the car and fly back, then fly back out to do the Mille Et Un Nuits.

Even if not interested, spread the word about the Tunisian trip please as Fenouil's a true legend and a lovely guy and anyone coming along will learn more about North Africa and the desert than they can imagine plus he's the sort of person we should support because he's a proper petrol head (and also a bit of a philosopher too!)

Cheers
Rick
