I do these every year, done 5 now. I go with the Honda s2000 crew but last year I had changed to the Porker so just went as a passenger which is no fun at all. This year the 996 will be let loose on Europe accompained by seven s2000's. These trips are fab and cheaper than you think. So France, Germany, Austria,Switzerland and Italy better watch out [:D]

Hotels booked in below places:

23rd May Lille
24th May Stuttgart
25th May Salzburg
26th,27th May Venice
28th May Lake Como
29th May, Montreux
30th May Metz

We are naturally doing the Stelvio pass and lots of other great roads. These trips are what Porkers are made for in my opinion. [;)]

I will of course post plenty of pics . Anyone else done any hoons?

cheers

Sounds like a great trip, apart from having all those S2000s in tow [;)]

A few years ago we took our old boxster on a tour of France along with some friends in a TT and an Elise. It was fantastic, travelling through all of the famous wine regions on some amazing roads.

Hoping to take my 996 on a trip to the Nurburgring this year [:)]

Cheers

Sounds awesome Jamma.

Not done anything like this myself but would love to.

Maybe next year try get a few more Porsches involved? I would deffo be up for it. Probably a bit short notice for this year but i'm game!

Could try arrange something for a little later in the year if anyone is up for it?

Have fun!

Hi

Sounds good ... we are going to Florence - Lake Garda - Reims at end of March ..with a quick stop at Maranello on the way [;)][;)] I have never done anything like this before and if you do not mind would appreciate a wee bit advice....

- what breakdown cover is the best for Europe - AA, RAC - have had good stories re ADAC??
- Need a decent hotel with facilities for the car for overnight stop between Bruges and Florence - thought of Basel area ...any recommendations ...

Hi, I am with A plan and you get free cover with this abroad anyway. Plus if you have a Porsche warranty this covers you to (AA). Not sure of any Hotels near Basle I am afraid. Also getting back to AA and RAC both are good, I was with one 6 years back just after I got my bmw serviced I was not going to bother but my insurance recommended I got cover so I did. Best thing I ever did as at about 3.a.m I broke down in the middle of no where. I called them up, this guy turns up with a flat bed , tells me my water pump has gone. Takes me to a hotel and car to garage. Gives me a new 2 litre citroen and off I go . I come back 3 days later and all I pay is the garage costs. Car, Hotel , picking me up, taking car to garage was all free. You def want to get it

Thanks for the response ....

I have rac uk cover and would need to add rac european cover however a couple of guys on 911uk swear by adac and a fraction of the AA/RAC cost and you get AA premier in the UK with it ...seems like a no brainer but thought i would ask.

btw no warranty ...not a porsche ..italian...so need cover eh...

I have a fantastic apartment booked at Lake Garda and Reims and a hotel booked in Florence ..just cannot seem to locate a good stopover with safe secure parking....

cheers

Kevin
