Anyone see Top Gear on Sunday night? The new GT3 was quicker round a wet circuit than the Turbo model by nearly 4 seconds and the Turbo ran in the dry! It was also quicker than the EVO 8 (which was also a dry run). Pretty quick really considering the EVO is considered one of the fastest 'real world' cars point to point.

That's no surprise if you 've been following it's progress in the FIA N-GT class championship, it cleaned up for the second year runing. An amazing triumph in engineering terms, I wish I could afford one. It was heartening to see J. Clarkson give praise where it was due despite his mallevolent feelings towards 911s. I'm looking forward to seing the CGT on there now.

Timos, I feel that I have to come to the defence of the turbo; I may be wrong but I'm sure that the turbo's lap was also done in the wet. That's not to take anything away from the awsome display from the GT3.

Hence, the two fastest times in the wet are 911's - so much for all those that criticise the rear engine. It would be great to see the GT3 do the lap in the dry and take the top spot!

Yeh what is all that vociferous nonsense about the rear ends of 911s? Even my 'old' SC handles well, you just keep your foot in and be sensible if you are on the road.
