Having looked at the PCM Manuel i see that you can select TMC-ALL or TMC-route, looking in the car they seem not to appear. Dynamic route is available and i understand reading the Manuel this uses TMC to calculate the route. As i had to ask for the Manuel as it did not come with the car does this mean TMC is only available on certain Years?[8|]

What year/model is your car? Are you sure that's the correct manual they have given you? If you have a 996 then you will have PCM1 or PCM2.0, neither of which have TMC as far as I know. Later versions of PCM2.1 (fitted to the 997) have TMC, so it sounds like you have the wrong manual.

As far as i know, the PCM2 is TMC enabled but the cd's supplied by Porsche didn't include the TMC codes for the UK... Theoretically, if an updated CD was produced including the codes, then you'd have the TMC functionality as well...

While it can be of use on long journeys (for major traffic problems), i think its a bit overrated. The info is typically delayed so the "dynamic routing" function that uses TMC isn't always sensible. Just my 2p!
