Thought I'd post some quick pics from yesterday. It was a great event, plenty of cars and vendors. The rain even held off till the mid afternoon [:D]

Not sure what colour this is (I assume it's not original), looked similar but darker than Rubystone red

Photo doesn't do this colour justice, it was much brighter in real life.

Unusual rear treatment on a flatnose converted 911

Great looking 993, bonnet latches and matt black wheels made it look hard as nails

Nice pics again!

Loving the Saratoga top.

(Have you got any pics of a 944 with D90s and black / anthracite wheels?)

Phil

Peter, please remind me how I post my pics so that they come out that size rather than postage stamp sized[8|]

Thanks and love the pics

Hi Phil,
I've had a quick look but I don't think I can find any, but I'm sure there'll be some on Rick's website somewhere. It'll look great though. Go on, you know you want to [;)]

Nick, to post pics like this you need to host the pictures somewhere else - some webspace or a photo sharing account for example, upload the pics (I resize them to 800 pixels wide in the free Serif Photo Plus, as it's about the right size for most screens) and then use the add image button in the reply window, put the link in and you're done.

The car with the Saratoga top is Mick from the SELNK group, he's had it for a while & now the 944 is refurbed he has fitted it. I ddn't see it at our last club night but those who did were very impressed!

(And I'm back in the room!)

Cool, thanks for that. I saw Sean's car in the flesh at the last dyno day. Those wheels were truly amazing. I was looking for a linen metallic car with dark rims just for an idea.

That said, I need to look at my suspension again (see other thread) so any tarting up & bodywork plans need to be chilled for now [:'(]

I'm loving the looks of this 968 though

Peter, that is a rather tidy looking CS you have photo'd [;)]

Phil - the photo of the 968 you posted belongs to a guy called Chris, goes under 'edz968' over on the 968UK forum, he has made some interesting additions to his '68...and used a fair amount of initiative locating parts from other marques.

This was a great day out (though I admit I'm biased).

I was parked up on the far end of the Scottish region's line-up on the grass, with "˜just married' vinyl on the back end "¦

Paul, you were on the track at 14:00? I went out in the 15:00 group and we got the torrential rain. Still hit 130 on the straight, though! How much faster did your monster motor get to, given that you also had the dry to do it in?

I saw 140 on the speedo (so probably 130) on the first lap but once I hit 120 the car went extremely light and unstable at the front so I bottled it and didn't go above 120 again [&o]. I didn't have any of the undertrays or front spoiler fitted at the time so I can only assume I was getting dreadful lift. I had thought about refitting them a couple of days beforehand but because all the joining instructions said it would be 70mph tops I didn't bother - doh [&:]

I'll know better for next year [;)]

A 4 mile cicuit with a 1.3 mile main straight that you enter at an easy 80mph is very tempting indeed [8D]

Hi - The top was imported from the States about a year ago. If you want one bear in mind shipping and customs duty roughly double the price that you pay. The early tops had a metal frame and are prone to make excessive wind noise. The later tops came in Grey and Bronze the black plastic trim on the inside is prone to splitting after time exposed to bright sunlight, also they can be scratched easily so pay attention when buying. Glad you like my roof I waited 3 years to find a good one. Regards Mick
