Thicker-rimmed Multifunction Steering Wheel

Does anyone on this forum have a car fitted with the new order code CPA (thicker-rimmed multifunction steering wheel) in Ocean Blue? It became available for orders placed earlier this year, I assume for the 2007 model year, and I understand these cars are coming through. I will explain my request to anyone who can answer 'yes'!

I'm running this one again to see if any new owners/members might be able to help. Thanks Gary and Graham for being half-way there!

I am three quarters way there. My last car had the slimmer multifunction wheel and my current car has the thicker padded rim. My view is that if you are using the car everday and want to use the phone a lot, mute the radio etc then the multifunction rim is useful. However the thicker rim is much nicer as a driving tool so if they have combined the two then I would say go for it unless you want a pure driving machine. Most important of all if you are buying a C2S then spec the sports exhaust and the short shift box two must haves in my view. My current car also has PCCBs the initial impresions of which are fantastic but durability yet to be tested

I believe this is TechArt:

Im going to spec my 997 turbo coupe tomorrow (11/1/07) at Porsche Center West London.
Im going to find out about the thicker m/f steering wheel. Ill post what they say tomorrow night.
At least someone out there is as crazy as me, spoke to techart today and sorting out the body work like the one in the post above. Front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear spoiler, wheels, lowering kit etc.
Think it makes the car look even more amazing than standard!

Steve, apart from colour choice the steering wheel spec was the next hardest choice for me [:(].
The multi function wheel is the triangular shape and I didn't really want that, For me the circular design was part of the 997.
I'm over the moon with the wheel I picked and wouldn't change it.
Obviously though I only had to look at the price list to realise that Porsche knew which one the majority would pick [:'(]
Thicker, circular with multi function was my ideal spec....
But as always, choices are individual.

Happy shopping.....[:D]

Just got back from West London Porsche.
Just ordered a carrera white, black leather turbo coupe......with a thicker three spoke multi-function steering wheel in leather!!
Its an individual option. you need to order the standared m/f wheel (order no. 431 (£40.00)) then the individual option (order no. CPA (£428.00)).
They were very helpful looked at the interior of cars and went through all the options with me.
hope the info above helps you all.

And the rest of the spec ???? [;)]

I hope they showed you the additional OPC only addition page.
I only learnt about some of the options from various fora, the dealer wasn't aware of some of them..!!

Gary,

Just what is the OPC only addition page please?

And just what else is on the individual options list that doesn't appear on the web configurator?

Thats exactley what im doing to mine (the link posted by ALEX L).
The individual options arnt on the online config, it was on the salesmans system.

I think the opc additional page has things like i chose, white stitching, carbon handset, illuminated door entry guards, personalised floor mats etc.

I think the salesman nearly fell off his chair when i started to spec the car.

PCCB brakes, short shift, sport chrono, rear diff lock, heated seats, fire ex, lots of extra leather, lots of carbon, cd changer, extended navi, thicker m/f steering wheel, park assist, heated seats, adaptive sports seats.
Think it will the dogs!
If the opc additions are different to what i thought could you let me know asap so can check if anything else to add.
thanks

Steve, It seems like the salesman has seen you good, the dealer only pages have the small things that can be optioned like seatbelt outlets in carbon/aluminium look etc.
Some of the thing you have mentioned would be on the list.
Very highly spec'ed...

Enjoy garyw

I think i did go a bit over board, but its the first time ive spec a new car and its the first porsche ive owned.
So im planning on keeping it for a while.
Is there anything that i should know about the turbo, good or bad, that i should look out for?

You need to get some pics up of your car when you get it sounds like a great spec.....just come across a white Turbo on the used Porsche website, whilst I like the exterior, not sure about the 'Ipod' interior at all...bit too much white going on!

I agree with you on that one, not sure on the seat backs or the center consol. Chose leather for mine with the white stitching.
As soon as ive got it there be a few pics taken, ill post a few for you all to see.

A couple of questions, how do i go about getting the 997 on the club stand at national day etc? Would it matter if it had the techart kit on it on the stands?
