In a word: unbelievable. This car is as much fun to drive at 30mph as it is at higher speeds. I am already addicted to the engine noise and that's still with the revs kept below 4,000rpm! In a month or so the car will have been run in and i'll be able to experience the Variocam Plus come into play above 4,200rpm! What an experience to look forward to! The steering is light and very precise.

I've covered just over 400 miles in one week with some motroway driving and some town driving. The engine is still very tight. The tyres seem to be run in now as they seem much grippier, even in the pouring rain - I was very happy to find that I had Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres. The ride is very, very good on *decent* roads. The brakes haven't really been tested properly yet but seem fine in normal use. I've got the standard 18" Cayman S wheels and even with these the ride can become quite harsh on some of West London's cratered roads! Shifting into first gear is still not slick when the engine is cold. I'm hoping this will improve over time.
I've had rain on every single days since I collected my car and the rain sensor has proved very useful during my first week with the car. This is part of the auto-dimming mirrors package and I highly recommend it considering the amount of rain we've had lately (even thought we can't wash our cars due to a water shortage!).
The Seal Grey exterior is quite dull in cloudy weather but this suits me very well as I didn't want my car to stand out. It does look very nice on a sunny day though. The Stone Grey interior is also a very good alternative if you are after a lighter interior. It's not so light that it will get dirty very quickly, nor does it provide too much reflection onto the windscreen. It's dark enough to hide dirt yet light enough to provide a feeling of a more roomy cabin. It's light and airy and i'm very happy with it.

The oil level hasn't changed in the 400 miles covered so far. Plenty of windscreen washer fluid has been used though! I've not experienced the infamous rear hatch rattle so far.

- Auto-dimming mirrors with rain sensor (just for the rain sensor!)
- Carbon door sill guards (so much so that I will probably get some of the carbon packs for the interior as funds allow)
- ParkAssist (expensive option for what it is but it only needs to save your rear bumper once and it's paid for itself!)
- Sports steering wheel (looks much nicer than the stock steering wheel, the thicker option would have been nicer had funds allowed)
- Full leather sports seats (the cushioning in these is firmer than the standard seats and the driving position just feels more sporty)
- Stone Grey mats (freebie from my OPC and essential items!)
- Deletion of model designation (FOC option - provides a nice, smooth rear-end to the Cayman S)
Options that I could have lived without:
- Bi-xenons (I hardly drive at night or on unlit roads so not much use at the moment)
- CD-changer (I only found out recently that the single-slot PCM CD is MP3 compatible!)
- Porsche crest on headrests (looks nice but not essential)
- PCM (the satnac part of PCM might come in useful one day)
- Auto climate control (i've had it set to 22 degrees Celsius from day one and it does the job but the standard aircon would have been just as good)
- Coloured wheel centre crests (freebie from my OPC but not essential)
- Heated seats
- Bose (sounds awful - just as bad as the Bose in my MY03 Boxster)
