So the new season is nearly upon us.

May 5th Brands Hatch Indy Circuit
June 2nd Oulton Park International, Cheshire
June 30th Donington Park, Leicestershire
July 21st Croft, N. Yorkshire
August 11th Oulton Park International, Cheshire
August 27th Castle Combe, Wiltshire
September 21/22 Silverstone (Grand Prix), Northants (triple header meeting)

I hope you can join me for some of the events during the year. Silverstone is the season finale and we share the weekend with the BritCar 24hr boys. The competition is serious but the banter is all but.

This year will be more interesting than ever as we have Boxster S's and 996s' joining us!

I'll be campaigning a 944 S2 this year. (The 964RS and the 968CS are taking a well-earned rest this year!)

I'm sure that lots of you have done track days at these circuits - now you see how fast the cars go when they've been stripped bare!

I am up for adding a bit of support, always a good day out at Brands.

Any of you other fellers up for a bit of a meet at Brands?? and cheer on a 44 maybe we could try and all get on the infield if we are quick to decide?

I could just be tempted by an outing to Brands. It's just down the road from here and I have nothing booked that Saturday.

Count me in!

Oli.

Saw the Hartech (Marcus and Ben's) Boxsters again at Oulton on Saturday - I do believe one might even have passed me ;)

Who is running the 996s?

Will definitely be at the Silverstone round - probably both days.

I think (Mad) Pete Morris is driving a 996!

Tempted for the 5th May but it is the day before the Donington Historic Festival (which I am definitely going to) and it wouldn't give me much time to sandblast the Brands Hatch "mud" (read concrete) out of my wheel arches... I'll give it some thought. I could go in the Golf, I suppose.

Will definitely be there on the Britcar 24hr weekend.

I had a passenger ride in Paul's 944 s2 race car on Friday at RS Day at Oulton.

Thanks Paul, and good luck for the season.

Alan.

I will definitely catch up with you Paul trackside. Good luck and as for all of us I pray for reliability and safe clean races.

You're welcome Alan. Just getting to know the car - that was only the second time I've driven it - first time was at Steve Brooke's Curborough sprint day. It still needs setting up but it was putting in sub 2 min laps [;)]

And Mark McAleer.

Hi Paul, I am hoping to do 5 rounds or so maybe 6. I haven't signed on the dotted line as it were as I am a subcontractor but if/when I get my next renewal I will do. I was given my preferred number (12) last year when I raced as an invitation to the Silverstone triple header, the idea being that I could carry the same number through this season. That was a really fantastic race weekend, very excited for this season.

Would be great to meet a few people. No room in the infield for cars, we were really short on space last year for trailers and support vehicles last year, but people are more than welcome.

I agree, no room on the infield as such at Brands. We should all manage to get a spot, either formally (pre-arranged with the circuit) or informally along the Brabham Straight or on the South Bank. Brands is usually open to "exotic" car club displays, it all helps to get punters through the gates. I imagine it would be better to approach them if we wanted to be able to guarantee parking as a group.

Sorry gents, infield, I meant South Bank , good idea about contacting circuit to get some dedicated parking though, I don,t mind doing this would need to know a rough idea on the number of cars I would have thought.

Please add below if attending / interested, it is £10 pre-booked
