Hi all. sit down before you read this. I've just got around to doing the blowing turbo flange gasket on my 931. I've had the head off recently but just found out that the flange bolts should be renewed at the same time, so off it all came again, and good job too, the bolts had streched and it had blown out all vestiges of the gasket, metal and all. Anyway the point is I must have bough the bolts from a Porsche telescope salesman as at £20 PER BOLT, he must have seen me coming. Does anyone know what they are made from?
 
Don't know what they are made from, but they are very hard. The price doesn't seem too bad if it's the 12mm 12 point bolts you are talking about. IIRC they cost me about £82 for three the first time I bought them.
 
I don't know whereabouts you are situated but I get all my bolts and fasteners from www.tridentracing.co.uk at Silverstone circuit simply because Porsche charge so much for what is effectively a mass produced bolt. My most recent purchase were the 8 bolts that hold my brake callipers on. Porsche price £5, Trident price £2.70

Trident supply many race teams from the lowest level up to the occasional F1 and if you look round their unit they have more size bolts than I have ever seen. I am sure if you know what size and spec you need they will be able to help.
