Tastefully modified ?

Not sure if this gem has graced these pages before, but the owner wants 12 grand for this, ok, taste is subjective but this makes me shudder,

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/944/porsche-944-s2-16v-cabriolet--tastefully-modified----------------1990/1650444

16V 3.0L turbo engine too....???? Taste is subjective of course but I doubt many will see this as tastefully modified. If it had been in metalflake purple with a yellow roof... now THAT would be a different thing (did I just have a taste bypass?) [:D]

Cheers
Mick

Looks like a West Coast Customs car .

I like the split rims without the otter lip paint . I like the Paint colour , old school Continental Orange Nice .

I do not like the fins on the rear lower valance , boot spoiler look cheap , front lower spoiler over kill , bonnet vents NO !

Lambo doors are for Lambos' not Porsche's .

Interior looks like a zebra crossing .

Car is not worth the money as it was previous crash damage car and now will only be suitable and appealing to Pimps , Pop starts or Drug dealers .

Over cooked and I just hope that he keeps his 944 Turbo cleaner and more original as it will be worth a lot more .

Please note this is only in my opinion and my taste , every man has his own taste .

I have seen West Coast Customs trash some really nice cars !

I have room to talk ! This was my last 944 T ! Pimp Daddy ;)
Picture will follow .

"The S2 has the 3.0 16v 250bhp engine which is widely considered to be the best in the 944 range for power, reliability, efficiency and ease of use. " O rly?

The ad is full of bullsh*t flannel and the car is modified in very poor taste, whether the work has been completed to a high standard or not.

If i've not mistaken this exact car has come up before. Think it was a guy called Paddy who did it?

If it is that car then it's a first class modification. Not to my taste either but each to their own and you've got to admire the craftsmanship. Plus it was rescued from the scrap heap. Surely better to tango it than let it dissolve away?

Quite correct, in fact the images in the advert include extracts from Porsche Post 944 Register article about the car, penned by our very own Mr. McNulty no less. [:)]

I did say I have no room to comment on his 968 as I my self went to the Tastefully Mods. ;)

This was my old 944 T , I don't think it was that bad a look ???

Not the car for the Purist .

With a few of the garish mods removed (rear splitter, seats for more subtle items for instance) I don't think that car would look so horrific truth be told. But then beauty is in the eye of the beholder ;).

Lambo doors on anythign other than a Lambo are like Lexus lights on anything other than a Lexus, both debateable, but having a door that opens perfectly well outwards that can allso go up seems utterly pointless, at least on a Lambo they only go one way.
