Synchronising Key

The key to my Cayman needed synchronising today because it would not lock or unlock the car.

To do this you need to insert key into ignition and turn on. Press and hold lock/unlock button on key, until the red light on the door lock/unlock button in centre of the dashboard flashes. Key should now work once removed from ignition.

This procedure is not refered to in the manual.

It's uncommon, but can happen to 987, 997 models as well as Caymans.
