Suspension secrets 718 GT4 kinematics (or similar) opinions?

New car to me, 2022 PDK has a non standard geo on it, but no aftermarket parts. My last gt4 had rear toe arms and from memory, felt better on corners than current and times on local track show the same. I have seen the kinematics kit and this looks the business but I’m also wondering if it’s too much. I don’t do a huge number of track days, but handling when I do is paramount. I would accept some compromise on the road to have the better handling on the track.

There is also an option for something In between like the manthey kit, but that does seem considerably more expensive comparatively, but potentially a better option.

has anyone fitted either and can offer their views on outcome?

thanks

I had what was essentially the kinematics kit minus springs on my 718 GT4 with the standard PASM shocks, and now have a set of Manthey coilovers.

Bang for buck the rear toe arms, shims and front top mounts are good value. You can get a nice amount of front/rear camber alongside a good amount of rear toe which you can't get with the OEM setup. It makes a noticeable difference and I would recommend it as a starting point for anyone who tracks their car. Rather than via Suspension Secrets you can get the parts from Porsche Motorsport which I think should save you some money. You can then use a good Indy to fit them and setup the car's geo.

The Manthey coilovers alone, or the full kit, are another step up but you've got to pay to play. I was very fortunate to get my set before the recent massive price hike, but they are really, really good. I've been at Cadwell Park all day today and I'm still learning to lean on them more and more. For me they instil way more confidence than the PASM dampers and I find the car is better on both road and track with them fitted. It's all about the quality of the damping but I wouldn't pay the £16k price for them now though - that's just ridiculous. Coilovers from someone like SSR or just the non-Manthey KW v3 might be a more reasonably priced option if you want to go down that route.

Sorry, I've just realised by "Manthey Kit" you may have meant this:

Bar the spacers for the top mounts (which are optionally fitted anyway) that's essentially what I had fitted. The top mounts and rear toe links can be bought as Porsche Motorsport parts and will be cheaper than buying them under the Manthey banner.

I actually have my old top mounts kicking about if you're looking for a set of slightly used ones to save cost. You'd just need front and rear shims (readily available from various sources) and rear toe-links to build your own kit.

Some part numbers in case they're useful:

* Porsche Motorsport 718 GT4 Clubsport adjustable rear toe links (981-331-045-8A x2) and associated studs/washers/screws
* Porsche Motorsport 718 GT4 Clubsport/991 GT3 Cup offset camber plates/shock absorber top mounts (991-343-0158A and 991-343-0168A)
* Porsche Motorsport 7mm link arm shims (996-341-543-93) [note: other thicknesses are available]
