Hi friends,
Moving away from the Boxster forum and straight into Modified because I think that's the right approach now. Car is a 987.2 Boxster S (63k miles).
Looks like my feared suspension issues (presumed to just be front top mounts) are larger than I thought. I'm advised to replace three out of the four lower control arms (apparently the previous owner only had one replaced at some point - odd) in addition to the front top mounts. Once we're in there, my thought is why not do a more comprehensive refresh? Possibly new coils, springs, rear top mounts... am I missing anything?
The two questions are:
1) Any recommendations for non-OEM parts? I would be looking for a stock and 'new' feeling with the option of some adjustability if I do decide to actually track it down the line... If the parts are cheaper than OEM, that helps too. Any recommendations? (If the recommendation is to stick with OEM, that's fine too).
2) Has anyone had issues with insurance when it comes to non-OEM suspension components? Do you mention it at all?
I'm new to all of this (suspension re-fresh, non-OEM parts, mentioning it to insurance, intention of tracking the car in the future).
Look forward to your comments!
