hi there,

I have a mate whos in for a 968, they are a beauty I told him.

He found one and the owner says its a one off, royal dubai family car.

the thing looks strange, never saw anything like this.

its on UK plates at the moment.

anyone knows the car or what it is ?

website of the car here

the website is in portuguese but mainly to check pictures. any help would be appreciated

Other than the strange rear hatch/deck it looks like a regular LHD tiptronic to me, but being on a J plate would make it a very early one, although I have a contemporary review of the 968 from the time which shows a Porsche UK press car on a J plate.

Ignoring the possible uniqueness of this car for a moment and it's just my opinion, but I simply don't understand why anybody in the UK would buy a LHD tiptronic 968 when there are pefectly good manual RHD 968s out there. A RHD tiptronic yes, a LHD drive car that you can't buy as RHD (e.g. BMW E30 M3, Integrale etc) yes. I suppose the only benefit from being from Dubai is it's likely to be rust free.

Like I said - just my 2p worth.

The rear cover/hatch/boot thingy looks like a local aftermarket job that is probably cheaper than sourcing a new/used rear glass in Portugal.
It's on an "N" chassis plate so first year production and early build, think I can see 00610?

As for 11500 euro's, no offence but.....[&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:]
