Just to let you all know that I am still grinning from ear to ear after cruising round the Cheshire countryside with the roof off this weekend. It' s the first time the weather has been nice enough since I accuired TPT (Tara the Porsche Targa). Lets just hope that the summer will be glorious and she gets used.
I hope that everyone else made the most of the weather.
Hi to the couple in the Black LHD 964, made my day. I didn' t think Porsche owners let on to other porsche owners.

I ALWAYS acknowledge other Porsche cars (headlight flash or wave).
Years ago (before kids, school fees etc) I drove a succession of MGs and drivers always acknowledged each other - when two MGAs met it was as if peace had been declared, such was the strength of the waving, flashing, two-tones (still legal then!) etc.
When I got my first Porsche in 2001 (first sports car for many, many years), it was a matter of great disappointment that fewer than half of other Porsches met even bothered to return a wave. I still acknowledge all other Porsche and intend to continue to do so - I' m sure all Forum users will respond so lets embaress the rest into joining in...

BTW Nicola, I removed the hardtop on my C4 the day she arrived and have never driven since without the hood down (OK, so once or twice I got caught in the rain but the sentiment is hood down or use the other car...)

Can I suggest that the next time it rains, you go and buy another targa? This could become expensive but I' m sure we' d all appreciate it!

As for " the flash" , I tend to wave if at low speed and flash if at high speed.

Does anyone have a copy of that letter that was sent in to 911 Porsche World that discussed the hierarchy of the flash? Who should flash who etc? I know we shouldn' t make the distinction (I don' t) but it was amusing!
