Sunroof motor will only go one way

Read clarks garage guide and bit confused still

Lift arms were not working as they were ment to on my 86 car i realised that the

removed lids on lift motors to find stripped teeth on lift arms plastic cogs

Ordered full cable /Lift box setup and installed it

testing it with roof off and cogs removed the motor would only work one way in which it pulls cable out of tubes (lift i think)

The cable came right past nearside box and now i cant get it to work either way

Switch does click each way

Also noticed the limit switches are not fixed at bottom and just the blade sticking out top that keeps them attached to plate (eg i can slide both switch together back and forth )

Cam gear is out, its on the back off the motor.

White cog with arms that hit the limit switches and lets me function.

Worked mind out with some trial and error.

Think you need 2 use the swicth without the cogs in 2 wind the cable back, and set the cam gear poistion. Then set arms 2 the matching poistion on the cam gear, up/ locked or retracted

The limit switches do slide very slightly. 4 minor adjustment, but its most likely your cam gear orientation

this you mean?

Any idea where its ment to be its currently back in posistion 1

Yep that's it, mine was playing up when I got it, would lock unlock and raise but I had 2 hold the swicth down untill the right moment, ie the limit switches where not working.

I belive poistion 2 is the locked poistion, 1 is retracted and 3 is raised.
