sunroof jump

My sunroof jumps up a few mm as I slam my door shut when leaving the car. Is this normal, or should the sunroof be clamped down harder than this so that it doesn't jump?

(I assume the latter, but thought I'd see what happens on other peoples cars before taking mine to the garage for adjustment).

Not normal, should be held down more, mine did this after my specialist tried fixing, you'll probably find it lifts up while at speed too.

The mechanism in the boot is probably slightly out of alignment so that only one side is clamping down firmly. Clarks Garage has a good write up on the adjustment but it is fiddly to do.

In the meantime I recommend you keep below 28mph to avoid on road liftage [;)]

Definitely not as it should be. Is it actually held down at all? That is, if you sit in the stationary car and push on the rear of the panel from inside, does it lift then? If so it's probably only closing under the force of gravity.

I had this problem at the back of the sunroof i found that i was holding the button down too long and this moved the actuators from the panel so it can be removed. If you press the button to raise it you should see it pull down

I had this and had a look at Clark's Garage site and then every bit of the mechanism.
My hooks looked rather worn but by adjusting the micro switches on the top of the motor plate backwards a couple of mm, it appears to hold it better. If you move Them too far back it will retract them into the remove position.
