Strange Request requires tape measure

Hi all,

I am in the process of fitting the doors to my new garage (Porsche Palace).[:D][:D][:D]

As my car is tucked away in storage I wonder if someone can measure the width of their car from mirror to mirror and arch to arch. [:)][:)]

From what I can see on the net, the width is stated at 1735mm - so i'm guessing that is arch to arch.

The opening is 2134mm so no major worries, just choosing between an up 'n' over or some nice wooden doors, but not wanting the gap too small.

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

Just been out and put a tape measure over the wing mirrors - 1900mm almost exactly... possibly 1895, but I would say closer to 1900mm.

Ooops! might have to fold the mirrors in a bit just to get past the doors.

Door opening is dead on 1900mm - but if only 1895 across the mirrors that's plenty of room [:D][:D]

Or I could just borrow a router ??

If you know a good bodyshop, get them to take a 100mm strip out down the middle of the car...

My second garage is probably about that wide (possibly 2000mm). With a 924 cab, I reverse up using the mirrors to check it is square, when I get to the door, pull the mirrors in and reverse the last bit blind. Biggest problem is getting out the car!

If its a cab, can't you just put the roof down and climb out [8|][8|]

Plenty of room for me to get out once past the doors as it opens out to a double garage. Just thought it would look nice with two sets of wooden doors instead of one big door.

And it will look nice ..............just a bit of a squeeze getting in.

Wonder what I could put in the other side !!!???

We have a double garage with two doors, if I had a choice I would have one big door.

There are pros and cons to each setup but for actually working on the cars, etc, it would be great to stick it slap bang in the middle.
