Hi All,
I've treated my 996 to a Tequipment handbrake to match the gear knob I bought a while back, but in the process of removing the centre console to fit it, I've committed what I now know is the rookie error of not disconnecting the storage box sensor before pulling the console out and inevitably it broke. I couldn't figure out how to put it back and couldn't find any images online so I thought I'd simply tape the contact shut for now to avoid the telltale horn beep when locking the car. However, that doesn't seem to work...
So, I know this is a long shot but does anyone have an image of how the contact is supposed to attach under the console please? Or a part number for the bit that sprang off as I lifted the console, never to be seen again? What I've got left is shown in the picture - it's not mine, I've "borrowed" from the internet as I forgot to take a snap while I was trying to figure it all out...
Overall I'm really pleased with how the handbrake looks - and that I managed to install it (I don't have highly developed spannering skills!) - so this is a minor irritation, but one it would be good to sort out.
Thanks in advance for your help!
