I was wondering how susceptible the Cayman S is to stonechips?
So far i've escaped any serious stonechips on the paintwork. I've got a tiny chip on the roof but it's hard to spot. However, i've now got my second stonechip on the windscreen. I got the first one within four days of collecting the car and that was repaired by RAC Auto Windscreens. It's an okay repair I suppose and much more convenient than having the windscreen replaced, and it was free.
I got my second windscreen stonechip yesterday. It's not in my line of site and i'll be getting that repaired as well. So, my experiences have been that the paintwork seems to be reasonably resistant to stonechips but the windscreen is very thin and weak and the smallest stone will chip it.
What are your experiences with stonechips on the paintwork or the windscreen?
