With some upgrades I think you fool yourself into believing that there is something special going on and you are definatlley getting some more power (particularly exhaust or airbox mods, as an increase in sound tricks your mind to believe that you are going faster thean you really are)
With the SW chip, you really do feel the difference - as anybody over here will tell you and the thousands of people the otherside of the pond will also tell you.

The two weaknesses in the 3.2 are the valve train and the rod bolts. Higher revs puts more stress on both these areas. That said, mine looked just fine when we opened it up and I have only ever heard of one rod bolt failure in five years of internet surfing and the only valve train disasters I have ever heard of were due to missed shifts where a rev limit will not help you out at all.

You can have power over 6000rpm with a bit of reworking, at the dyno day mine was peaking at 6300/6400 before it dropped off, its been remapped to suit the engine mods, it used to rev to 7000rpm when i got it, but I have changed the rotor to cut-off at lower revs now. As Richard B states you can put a lot of stress on the engine. so be wary. Steve Wong as an excellent reputation in the States.

You asked me to let you know what chip I have to make that 240bhp !!!!
The seat was a complete nightmare to remove, as the bolts had been slightly rounded etc. etc.
Never the less, here is the STANDARD chip picture - or at least I believe it is according to 911Chips.com
It is number 1267355211
Should I order a Euro 3.2 with Sports Exhaust chip ? Or do I send SW my dyno sheet from Weltmeister and seek his advice ?
If I go for something like the FVD MAS (!!!) in the future would I need to re-chip ?
I will get an order in soon and let you know how it feels - any idea on BHP it will now make ?

Purpose not specifically to acheive more bhp etc, but to obtain better mapping, throttle response and overall smoother running.
I will let you know how it goes.
On a similar subject, had my injectors checked and cleaned and that made a significant difference to the smoothness and throttle at the lower rev spectrum , but I reckon it can be better..hence the chip.

IMHO, the best advice is to mail him your BHP and AFR reading. He will then return you a custom chip which will not only be optimised for WOT (all you ever test on a dyno) but more importantly, will contain his custom code for part throttle acceleration
Steve (and all other re-mapping companies) need to understand what induction, engine and exhaust mods you have made, and also whether you intend to run on 98RON fuel or not
FYI Steve got the AFR ratio 100% spot on for one of my earlier re-maps once he got the AFR. Literally perfect.
All the best

yes done all that, had a number of email exchanges with Steve and gave him all the info incl 98RON etc.
Just had a note that its FedXing its way to me so hopefully it'll arrive by the weekend and I can get the sucker in.
By the way, Steve is really helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
I will post an update next week.

Just a note for the benefit of anyone else ordering one,
On Steves website, when you order, the only option is to pay using Pay-Pal. I do not have a pay pal account and started to look in to it and bugged out when it started to ask for Direct debit details, depositing sums in my bank account etc, etc. Probably totally legit but I didn't go ahead.
There are no other methods of payment available on the website.
I sent an email to Steve and he will accept cards etc but can't do on-line.
You can fax the details but I decided it was easier to do it via email (split the numbers over three seprate ones) I guess you could phone through but theres a big time difference from here and LA.
Anyway, I will fit the chip this weekend. The instructions look pretty straightforward...gulp!..... and will report the results.

As an aside, Paypal it great and a real plus when using Ebay and other sites like SW.
Did you need to pay any duty or tax on import ? I am doing the same soon.

BTW, I also think Paypal is great. The initial hassle is to protect you not vice versa. Retailers have to pay a 3.5% cut to Paypal (I think) which is not so good for them but it is secure and convenient for us the buyers.
