Stereo wiring mess

After sorting some minor electrical faults i decided to tackle the stereo next and found this mess.
After a bit of searching i found a few threads but the wiring has been butchered in this one.
Does anyone have a colour code or wiring guide for these cars regards joe

Most aftermarket radios etc have standard wiring as follows:


Wire Color

Wire Function



Yellow

12V Constant / Memory



Red

Switch / Accessory



Black

Ground



Blue

Antenna Remote



Blue with White Stripe

Amplifier Remote Turn-on



Orange with White Stripe

Dash Light Dimmer/Illumination



Green

Left Rear Speaker (+)



Green with Black Stripe

Left Rear Speaker (-)



White

Left Front Speaker (+)



White with Black Stripe

Left Front Speaker (-)



Purple

Right Rear Speaker (+)



Purple with Black Stripe

Right Rear Speaker (-)

None of those are factory wires . I suggest you also pull out the tray to have better access and look for the factory wires .

I didn't say they were. I said they are aftermarket colours now standardised so he needs to refer to the wiring diagram for the 944 (see the hyperlink at the top of my post) and connect accordingly - the original poster never said he was au fait with wiring so I was just adding information.

I was referring to the picture Paul ,had nothing to do with your post . Just saying that the OP should find the original wiring if he wants to clear out all that mess.

Here is a picture of my wiring for reference ,note all speaker wiring are color paired ,factory and aftermarket.
