Poor photo. Most probably blue but does look burgundy (almost a visual illusion!). Think he'd be a bit more understanding than that.Only buy off him if you really want it and preferably after receiving a much better, clearer, higher res pic..

ETA : - Oh 11 mins til auction ends.. Well good luck if you choose to chance it! :)

Aha of course, you see Will it is "Rutland Blue" [;)]

But to my eyes it looks Burgundy too[:D]

If it fits a 911 and a 928 then it wont fit your 944. Early 911 and 928s use a larger diameter spline, similar to an early Beetle. 924s, 944s, 968s and 964s use a smaller diameter (late Beetle type) spline.

As it has a 911 part number I would suggest that it isnt going to be of any use to you. Further to that: its in a poor condition, by the looks of it...

944Man,

You sound like you know your stuff .... I thought that the S2 (and all late 944's) took a different wheel to the early 944's?

Also, any idea whether there is any overlap with the VW Golf steering column fitment?

Oli.

The later post 85.5 oval dash cars have a smaller diameter wheel don't they?

I know my 84 lux had a bus sized wheel compared to my 86 turbo. Also my mates 87 carrera has the bigger sized wheel when compared to mine.

That's either burgundy or the worst set of photographs ever taken. The white balance on his camera being way, way off could cause the effect, but then the metal of the mounts on the rear photo would also be the wrong colour "¦

There are 2 Momo bosses for the 944; early and late. One of them is the same as VW in dimensions, but I think there is a difference with the depth or something - I vaguely remember hearing about someone who used a Golf boss and nearly caused a fire in the horn wiring because it didn't quite fit.
