Start-up gremlins

Got in my car yesterday afternoon following the storms and had some wierd behaviours upon start-up. When I turned the ignition on a buzzer sounded and various of the warning lights started flashing - then when I fired up the engine most lights went out but the buzzer kept sounding and the heated rear window switch light was illuminated - I tried turning it off but couldn't !!! and the buzzer kept sounding - although it did seem like it was underwater!
I called the OPC who suggested trying it again this morning to see if it was an intermittant fault - it wasn't and now I'm waiting for Porsche Assistance to recover it.
The other unfortunate issue is that this was the first time the car was started after being delivered back by the OPC following its first service!
Anyone else suffered similar problems?

The only time I have experienced anything vaguely similar is when the OE battery decided to pack up. In fact one cell died, but the car started. Most of the electrical equipment went awol, and the alarm triggered (as you would expect). Apparently, the OE battery, despite costing above average, is well below average in reliability terms. It was replaced with what is generally regarded as the BEST battery, a Varta. Why don't Porsche fit one as standard? The AA man who bailed me out had literally just come from a Boxster owner with an identical situation!!!!

One hopes you have a similar problem, as it is easy to fix. However, I somehow doubt it! Good luck.

Thanks, latest is that the car got picked up around 9:30am and taken direct to the OPC - bad omen was that the guy who picked it up was the same guy who took my last one away which never returned!! - and by 17:30 the dealer called to say they hadn't craked the problem yet........so I await the rental car which hopefully I won't have too long this time.
Will keep you posted.
Regards
Dave
