sports exhaust

Anybody got a sports exhaust or induction mods on their 996 Turbo, I love the car but would like a bit more ear lobe stimulation at higher revs, extra power isn' t the issue (that' s one thing it doesn' t need !!!). I had a Cargraphic system on a C2 but felt that was a little too LOUD, I also don' t want to install short life span racing cats. Infact Porsches own system is great (particularly the fact you can lower the volume levels by a switch in the boot) but they don' t do an official system for the Turbo !
ANY IDEAS ?

Grant,

I have a 996 with the 450bhp factory upgrade, and the exhaust note is definately ' sportier' than the standard Turbo engine. Perhaps you should ask your local OPC what the upgrade to the exhaust system entails, without the upgrade to the engine. I' m assuming that the exhaust note is not entirely due to the engine mods only. However, I may be incorrect in this!

Just a thought...

Regards, Chris

Cheer' s Chris, I will do just that.
How long have you had the beast & what do you think of the 996TT ????

Grant,

I' ve had the Turbo since September 2002 (52), and I' ve just covered 10k miles this week. Prior to this I had a Carrera 4.

The Turbo has seamless power; however, aound town it drives like an ' ordinary' (if there' s such a thing!) 911. I have the Turbo body-kit on it, so it really looks the part, but less ' in your face' than some other marques. I think it is the perfect all round car. The only issue is can you justify the extra cost over and above the ' 4S' ? I have my name down for the 997 Turbo.....so I guess the answer for me is yes...

Talk with you again. Best regards, Chris.
