Spaceframe Project

I've seen this in the flesh and it does look a little bizarre but very very light. apparently it is one of two that were designed for racing, but I don't know what kind of series, it would be quite insane on a track day.

Alan at SAR Countryside Classics in Kimpton has it in his workshop (that's where the photos were taken) its been there a while as I saw it when he was working on my sills. He had my car for 6 months and I went down a few times to see how the work was progressing. A word of caution though, if you are thinking about buying this, he stopped returning my phone calls after two months and eventually didn't finish the work on my car, he returned it not running and with bits missing (aftermarket JL Audio speakers, door bins, undersill trims etc) so I would be very careful that you actually get everything that you need from the Turbo S he is including in this sale.

Hello Chris / Joss.

This "car" is mine its nothing to do with Alan of countryside classics. I am Simon Davidson of SAR and formerly Essential styling ltd. I share a workshop with Alan but we are totally seperate. I have quietly working on Porsche parts since 2005 and have a decent reputation with those that use me.

Alans treatment of Joss is woeful to say the least i dont know any details but I know the car was there for ages as i saw it continually. I used to be in business with Alan but that ended over a 18months ago when it was clear that Alans view of customer service was not the same as mine and he then started countryside classics. Now i just rent half the unit space for storage of parts / cars. I spend 4 days a week working elsewhere but need the storage space.

I hope any poor service from Alan doesnt reflect on me. A few people in 944 circles should speak well of me as i have been doing a bit here and there for years. I sold my own track car about a year ago so havent been to any meetings or active on the forum etc.

The spaceframe bodyshell is incredible, it has many options for rebuilding. I have now sold the turbo S that was going to be part of the deal. The moulds and carbon kevlar parts already made from them would cost tens of thousands to make from scratch and the roll cage is unbelieveable. Anyway this isnt mean to be a sales pitch, just call if you want to see it or know more.

I rarely get time to visit this forum these days so i may not reply quickly to any responses on this thread. Feel free to email offline if thats not breaking some rule or another.

Best regards Simon

Hi Simon

Thanks for your note, SAR had a good reputation and that was one of the main factors in my choice, and when I met Alan he used the name as part of countryside classics and said that you were now specialising in selling parts whilst he concentrated on the bodyshop side.

However I would like to confirm to the wider Porsche community that you were not involved in any way with my recent debacle and that all the conversations I had and all the payments I made went solely to Alan. I'm sorry if I gave the impression that you were in any way untrustworthy and can understand entirely why you have split from Alan.

Good luck with the car, it certainly looks stunning

+1 for previous dealings I've had with Simon in purchasing small items in particular a Strut brace.

I hope you get the car sold - it certainly looks like the an excellent basis for a super light and fast 944 race car !

I have had a couple of small parts from Simon through his Ebay page and can confirm everything was dealt with promptly, efficiently and honestly.

Shame to hear what has happened to your car Joss
