Hey everyone,
after picking up our new car, 2018 Macan, from Porsche South London and absolutely falling in love with it, we found a lovely wet rear passenger side foot well.
I called Porsche Assistance who sent out a very helpful engineer, even though he was from the AA and not Porsche directly.
while waiting I found a thread that the drains for the sunroof and pano roof run into the boot space, and if blocked they fill up the side panel and then leak down into the footwell.
i opened the panel and found a nice soaking puddle just under the air compressor.
the technician unblocked the drain, and we have water tested it, and thankfully it is running clear now. however the drying out process has been a nightmare!
the lockdown hasnt helped and our local dealer Porsche West London have given us a date for Jan 7 to bring the car in. In the meantime I have had the wet vac working overtime this week, with daily water extraction.
ended up with getting the heating on hi and letting it run today for an hour!! This is after 5 days of wet vaccing and we are finally at a stage where it is pretty much dry.
any other tips or things to look out for?? The rest of the car hasnt had the issue, and I think I’m more disappointed with the dealerships attitude when we called to get some help.
car is under warranty and we have had it for 3 weeks now!!
thanks everyone
