So does anyone else have a self healing 944... ?

So as per some of my other posts been trying to troubleshoot an issue with the passenger side electric window, wouldn't work properly using the passenger side switch but works perfectly with the drivers side one, so did all the usual cleaning up switch contacts (inside) and even swapped switches but still the same deal. (nothing new there just setting the scene)

Tonight decide to take it for a spin after work and get in, since it's gorgeous weather I thought lets get the sunroof out only issue is now it will barely raise (maybe 5mm max) and won't retract for me to totally remove it. Hmm another thing for me to work on but oh well that's part of the fun. Anyway as I pull up at home I decide to test the passenger window using the passenger side switch and it works perfectly - I haven't done anything to it but it seems to have healed itself or moreover the ailment has moved to another electrical system.

So any ideas folks? Was checking out the Clarks garage site and was wondering if its maybe the microswitches that might be damaged or the relay.

Thoughts?

My car has healed itself of many minor squeaks over the last few months. Probably because I drive it everyday but things do tend to fix themselves, which is very nice

Brought my 220 up to my house today from my other at my Mam's house, felt much nicer to drive and the rattle from the NS door gone (Hot Weather ?) but still has an annoying exhaust rattle at 2k, i know what is causing it and will be sorted sharpish ! Been up a ladder all week painting the house, car fettling day tomorrow, both going to a local vintage show on Sunday with some other nice pork []

Apologies for dredging up this old thread but I finally got around to taking a look at the Sunroof issue this evening and I thought I'd drop in a quick update. So to recap - still having the issue where it will lift very slightly but not fully open, will lower back to close but will not retract for roof removal. I decided to remove the motor, as suggested earlier could be a sticking motor, however when the motor runs disconnected from the mechanism it works fine (of course doesn't have any load on it disconnected) so I don't think that is the issue. Taking another look with the plate unmounted but the motor reconnected I can see the mechanism at work and the white cam on the back moves when the motor is in action all be it briefly - I am tending towards the cam/microswitches being out of alignment right now but not sure of the best approach to realign - if anyone has any thoughts they would be greatfully received. I have been checking the Clarks site and other online guides so this weekend I'll totally remove the mechanism and see if I can give it a good overhaul - or install a manual handle and go back to basics []

Still got problems with the roof on my 220, it does not help being a bastardised version, being mid facelift with old style mechanical system and some of the electrical system being half and half.....................AARGHH!
