Silverstone Classic 24/25/25th JULY

Anyone going to this after the big 968 meet up last year? New organisers and lots of stuff is planned.

I hope to be racing 'The Orange One' but am on the reserve list - so am able to do qualifying (17:15 Friday) and then see whether a place comes available to race. NB PCGB races are just after 11am on Sat & Sun.

Drop by and say hi in the paddock if you do come - I need all the encouragement going!!!

Well, I'm coming with my kids now, on the Sunday. All part of their petrolhead training.

Fabulous day, lot's of sunshine, great air display with the Spitfire and Mustang and awesome noise coming from the Merlins. A good rally handling display. I managed to get out in a Cayenne and 997 at the new Porsche centre. The new facilities are really useful and looks like a big and clever investment for Porsche.

It was a good showing again from the 968s(15 not including a handful I saw dotted around Silverstone) not a record breaker like last year but very respectable and once again a high percentage of the register compared to other registers with big numbers of members.

The highlight of the day for me,, was standing in the pit lane when the "old" F1 cars + drivers were getting ready to form up on the start line.....
FABULOUS....[][][][]
And disscusing with Callum about his impending drive in the group C Nissan [ 800bhp]..With SERIOUS downforce......He was like a kid in a sweet shop,, EXTREMELY enthusiastic....[][]

Got to meet a few of the 968 clan, but everybody seemed "splintered" around....
