sills from ebay?

Youre going to have one shiny new side now and one old tatty side.

Id suggest putting the two nicest wheels on the drivers side too! [:D] We should go and have a look at this tomorrow James.
 
Got it back this morning, 2 layers of HD wax, popped to the mot station in ambergate, passed with no advisory [:D][:D][:D]

will tax it at the end of this month.

he did a first class job and was really cheap!

if you ring you can say your a friend of mine (James) lol I cannot praise him enough, bearing in mind not only did he do the paint he did all the mechanical repairs too, including brake pipes and wishbones, and he finished it all of by waxoyling it :)

 
Looks excellent, always gratifying to have a good job done by someone that you know isn't trying to take you to the cleaners.

At that price I'm tempted to do mine sooner rather than later - now slightly regretting spending the w/e spraying the sill with 'rust converter' and arches with Dinitrol.

I'm surprised you put back the side rubbing strips. If I ever get my car resprayed, they're coming off and staying off!

Funnily enough one fell off shortly after and I considered whipping them off but thought I would just keep it box standard.

See, even they don't want to stay on! [;)] Fair enough keeping it as originally intended. Probably the best excuse for keeping them on there.

What's the name of the colour of your car? It looks wonderful to me [:D]
 
Can anyone tell me where is the best place to get the INNER sills apart from the OPC

How do you mean inner sill. The inner sill is formed of the floor pan, there is then a stiffener and then the outer sill. Best place is OPC for all body parts, saves masses of arsing around trying to get things to fit that never will. For the sake of £150 a sill and £70 for the stiffener panel, that is not expensive. The sills on Ebay are pretty crap in my eyes as the part that rots and causes most hassle is the part that is not included. They also don't have the flare at either end thats needed and also don't curve as well which the OEM ones do, the outer sills on a 944 are not flat as everyone thinks,

What Alasdair said .OPC everytime for me.The bits of body fit as they should and make life alot easier when putting it all together.Andrew at promax can also get Porsche panels at the same price as OPC if he is closer to you.
 
the ebay sill that I got was exactly the same, not being funny with you al as you know your stuff but when it was offered up the curvature was the same, as you will see from my pictures he didnt use the full outer sill he just cut away the rot part way down and fitted it to the existing outer sill.

as for the question in regards to the inner, I got mine from OPC Nottingham.

Thanks for your advice on where to obtain the parts.
What I am interested in now is if the inner part (the part with all the large round holes in) is part of the floor, what does the section consist of when you buy the inner?
I have looked inside the cavity on mine and it is very rusty and also extends to the floor pan as well, which has rusty holes in it.
I bought the car because it had had new outer sills fitted OPC with the diamond indent, and thought it would be one job I would not have to worry about, but the drivers side (offside) is where the problem is and needs sorting out. Seems daft that someone would bother to fit nice new sills over the rusty inner section but this is what appears to have happened, very dissapointing!
