Should I trade up, 944Turbo to 996TT

I have driven one and they are awesome - they are modern enough now wheras the old 993`s etc looked a disaster (in my view) inside the cockpit but still slightly offset pedals unless you buy a left hooker but (seriously) they are a jet fighter on wheels - unbelievable linear speed - very very fast BUT they arent a GT3 when it comes to cornering.

I`d go for it.

All I have read about them by owners suggests they are massively fast but a bit bland (if that is possible). Great all rounder & GT car, faster than almost anything else in a straight line, and no doubt very impressive handling. If you enjoy the turbo shove then it would be very exhilarating

I agree with Paul's point about going lightweight rather than fast - I think my car is a pretty good compromise. 924 turbo is also a good idea. An older 911 might be more fun
You'd probably "feel" faster in an MG Midget - even at 50mph [:D] - I wouldn't like to crash in one though

The other ingredient is of course the noise - turbos tend to hide all that. A car that makes a great noise means every drive is an event. An older car on carbs sounds even better [:D]
