944 engine in early boxsters, plus it can't have had it's cambeltS done.

What do I win? [:D]

Engine from a Boxter, does he mean Boxster? Surely not![:D]
Those seats look like 928 seats?

Graham spotted the biggest mistake. And that from someone who's proud to be the most over-qualified person to talk about classic cars in the country. Apparently. [:D]

Graham, your prize is cylinders 5 & 6 from my own engine. I've never seemed to need them.

What got me most was that someone so experienced and knowledgealbe quoting the old galvanised thing. I thought that was only spouted by people trying to sell a really rusty one!

It does look lovely, but I'm not sure any of us could view it and keep a straight face. [&:]

Of course I would have liked to see a 6 cyl in a 944/924...maybe this is the missing link? [:D]

Ancient history or still for sale despite (because of?) his flowery prose?

still listed.

I don't know why it's not been snapped up. [8|]

Seems to me the MOST glaring error is that the 924S was produced from 1986 thru 1988 so it is not possible to have a 1985 924S - and this is without having to read the sellers "bio" preceding the 6 cylinder gaff that puts his "qualifications" in doubt.

Just for clarity's sake....[&:]

Was the 924S first produced in model year 1985, or 1986? I have a niggling memory that it was model year 1985, to coincide with the series two (oval dash for the non-pedants) cars? A model year 1985 car would be September 1985 to July 1986.

1986 model year sounds a whole lot later, when the turbo was being launched. For some reason that seems too late to launch the 924S.

It still seems odd that you could buy one in 1988, when the standard 944 was so far advanced. Given that they sold so few it really is a car that's under-valued, and I'd say snap up a good one as they are a real bargain given how good they are.

They are 928 seats Mark. This is what I was going to say. I doubt that they have rears to match (in any way).
