Servicing Wiltshire Area - Steve Bull?

Hi Everyone,

New to the forum and I'm looking to get my S2 serviced / inspected ahead of the improving weather ready for some proper use!

I've recently moved to Wiltshire and was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent place to get the work carried out?

The closest independent specialist to me would be Steve Bull at Devizes - anyone have any experience with him?

Thanks,

Slems

I've heard good reports but no first hand experience. Alternatively a short drive further to JMG Porsche in Christchurch, which I can recommend. Jon knows his 944's extremely well.

Yes, I recently had the clutch, gearbox seals, gear linkage and fuel lines on my S2 done there. I was very pleased with the work and the service and would be happy to take the car back there again.

Can highly recommend Steve and his crew, his chief mechanic is Christian the 993 register assistant and they are both part of the judging panel at the annual event. He tends to prefer to use. OE parts so being a 944 you may need to ask sometimes for him to source parts from somewhere else for cost reasons.

+1 for Steve and Christian - they did a lot of work on my 968 for me (belts, chains, slipper pads, tensioners, lots of engine seals including RMS, rubber doughnut, engine mounts etc ect). Steve is ex Swindon OPC and was factory trained on front-engine cars like ours. Give him a call and discuss what you want done and if possible agree a firm price up-front for the work. IIRC he will also give a 10% discount to PCGB members on the cost of OEM parts.

Have used Steve Bull in the past and was happy with the service.

Can also reccomend Neil Garner Perfromance engineering in Kemble. I was very surprised at their level of customer service and comitment to quality. They are real engineers and rather than replace parts, they use engineering skill and expertise to craft repairs to suit pocket.
Fantastic attention to detail and very helpful. They changed my exhaust for free as well as carrying out mods on gear lever throw based on print out provided by me from Pelican parts.

They are happy to carry out all level of mechanical, electrical, bodywork taks. They come very highly recomended by me.

Lots of classic cars to see on a trip down there, they have various TVR, Lotus, Lamborghini and Ferarri there as well as a Ruf 993 bi-turbo (oh yes) at the moment.
