I am in the process of buying a 964, & i have the opportunity to get the suspension lowered whilst other work on the car is being completed,
can you advise me on the best springs to use, ie either eibach or tech art ? or any others.

I Purchased a set of techart springs the first set - which didn' t fit - wrong model - were labelled tech art only, the second correct set had techart and eibach labels - so they are probably the same. I have a 944 but I can' t see 964 being different.
They did go out of their way to rectify the error - delivering the correct springs to Bramham Park, where they swapped them over.
I will also add that a group of us 944ers visited Techart for a tour of the operation and they couldn' t have been more accomodating, despite the fact it was very unlikely any of our group would be ordering a GT street (lottery wins excepted) in the near future.

Ken, here is the feedback from my customer who fitted the eibach springs without changing the shocks.

Picture also attached. Hope this helps regards, Simon simon@essentialstyling.com

I thought I' d let you know how pleased I am with the EIbach progressive lowering springs that you sent me, pictures of the finished item enclosed as an attachment,
To give you some background my car is a 1990-964 C/2 Coupe with 76K miles, runnig all standard suspension parts, I did' nt want to do a full suspension conversion, far to expensive!! after doing some reserch i came to the conclusion that EIbach sprigs were the most cost effective way to go, without compromising the ride quality, yet improving the handling and making the car look right!

I' m totally delighted with the feel of the car and the ride being just a tad firmer (tyre pressures 34psi rear/28psi front) and of course the car looks just great! well it did' nt look right before anyway.

thanks for the advise, the prompt service, and the best price!

Sorry to intrude on the 964 list again, but I forgot to say, very pleased with mine too, they are progressive so the initial travel is relatively soft for a good ride, but then they firm up nice and quickly when you are pressing on. I replaced the dampers at the same time but just went for the standard Porsche units. I have done a couple of trackdays since and very happy with the handling - it could be a bit floaty with original spring / damper combo. The only downside is on very rough roads they feel slightly choppy compared to standard. Obviously not directly related to 964 but I would expect similar results,
Tony
