Where in Cornwall can I get my SC serviced as the guy I used to use has retired, when I first got car I used Crispin in Devon but that is a long trek.
Regards Dave Crawley

My son lives near St Agnes - is that close for you?
If so, I'll ask him where he gets his 1979 SC serviced.

Regards,

Richard

Hi Dave,

Where in Cornwall? I'm in the same dilemma as I'm a very long way from the specialists who've been mentioned to me.

I'm in Truro, and will be trying Collins in Probus for some work. They are, apparently, German car specialists and know the older cars well, although they aren't ever going to be as clued-up on one marque as a Porsche indie.

Thanks for the answers, Andy at Honiton (SCS) is a way away. Would be interested in where RICHO T89's son gets his SC serviced. Will checkout Collins in Probus if not any other ideas. There used to be another guy working on Porkers in Probus a while ago.
Thanks Dave Crawley

Hi Dave,

I've sent a message to my son but still await a reply - will chase him this weekend.

I know he doesn't use a 'specialist' but a local garage who haven't let him down n the last 3 years.

Cheers,

Richard

Worth the trip SCS PORSCHE honest work.and will not rip you off.
Mine goes there, about a 60 min drive for me.

Will keep SCS in mind as I have met Andy on a couiple of club does. However its still best part of 2 hours according to my satnav.

Yes thanks Richard, will keep them in mind. I have also been given another garage closer to Newquay.
Best regards Dave

Hi Dave,

we're down here (near the Pandora Inn) for 2 weeks, and my mate who is also here (for a Daimler meet), had the exhaust come loose on his SP250 yesterday and we took it to this small garage (The Seven Milestones) and they couldn't have been more helpful - it was up on the ramp staight away and fixed within 15mins - all for no charge!

They were also 'fixing' two old camper vans.

Cheers,

Richard

Saltash is hardly even in Cornwall!

The problem here is I'm not that far down the county but the Devon border is well over an hour each way. Fine for a major service, but then I could go anywhere and train it back.

Dave, can you please keep me posted as I need someone I can pop in to for a while-you-wait service more often than not. Richard, I would also appreciate the details of your contact, or post them here for everyone's benefit!

Dave, the guy in Probus came to me through a Porsche specialist in Truro who doesn't do his own servicing any more. He now sends his sale cars there, so at least that's some recommendation albeit more modern cars. I was told they knew the '80s Porsches and other German marques well, but this would be a great thread on the Region forum?

Wiliams Crawford is where I got my excellent 911 from.

The garage my son uses is just a very small, but very frendly, local garage which doesn't specialise in any particular make/model. However, they love the more interesting cars and have looked after my son's SC for the last 2+ years. Its Ninemilestones Garage near St. Agnes.

Try Millers garage in Falmouth. Call and ask for Mike (owner) and explain what work you're looking to have done. He's 100% honest, they've done a heap of work on high end cars and a number of their technicians are ex BMW.

Thanks
