Can anyone help me with identifying what this button is for, see image.
I've taken my drivers side seat out to have new leather fitted to the seat bolster where the seat belt has been rubbing and underneath the seat is this button.

It's not a self destructed or Nitrous injection as my friend said, so can anyone help / advise as I am currently very reluctant to press it.

Looks decidedly aftermarket, at a guess I'd say it is an immobiliser/killswitch. It's in the on position so you would never have known about it.

Once I've got the steering wheel back on, airbag and battery reconnected etc. then I'll "Push the Button", turn the key and see what happens. A few people have said leave well alone!

I think it is the power switch for the mObridge I-POD adaptor, which is the silver box in the pictures ?

Would love to take the credit, but I already knew it had one fitted somewhere, so did a bit of 'Google ing' to see some pictures.

Thanks Jon, and that would indeed make sense. And looking at what you sent over the switch / button is the exact same type.
It just seems to be a strange area - location to place a button where there's so little access.

Thanks to Jon "The Voices" and all for the kind assistance. Looks like problem solved (y) :).
