My 87 Sports seats have finally torn at the piping and outer bolster, can anyone recommend a good trustworthy repairer so that I can over the winter get these seats fixed/restored.
I would be really grateful for any help with this.
Mike

Thanks Chris your car and seats look superb.
Did it cost £1.2k just to have the seats recovered?
Mike

PS are you coming to the concours around 21 Sept?

Hi Mike,
The cost was £1800 in total. The giy broke the price down as £600 for the 2 seats in my dads 1990 Lotus Elan and £1200 for the front and rear seats, door panels, rear quarter panels and parcel shelf of mine. He said if the window was out he would have done the dash too (currently plastc). It may be worth while looking at buying a comlete interior from a 993?! Just a thought.

Might make it to the concours.

Flatflyer: if you don' t mind me asking, how much did it cost to get the window on your hood replaced and did you have to take the top off for him? (My Boxster window needs changed...)

Try Alex Watt and Son, 14 Dunkeld Rd, Perth. tel 01738 626038.

They have done various jobs for me and they are brilliant, and cheap!

Thanks John, I will file all recomendations and hopefully get something done over the winter.
Mike

Watt's in Perth are a real find ... if you can find them! They are in a little place tucked away off the lower part of the Dunkeld Road, behind Sandy Bloy's Motorcycles.

They have so far recovered a a pair of VW camper seats for me (£80), repaired a sagging 924 seat (£40) and recovered the saddle on my Harley (£80), all of them were great pieces of work.
