Seat Refurb Thread Please Jacko

Lol, will take some photos when I do the drivers, am winging it using the sponges instead of the crappy air brush, it would work for a few seconds and then stop, spent an hour dicking about with it and then gave up, my wife was lesss than impressed with my sewing of the split seams but I think it looks fine, well it looks a lot better than it did, she said she would do it but the seat has been out of the car for two weeks and I cant wait until she decides to take a look. My seats werent too bad, only a bit of the pigment had gone, thats covered now, just hoping they look even tomorrow.

Lots of coats makes up for blotchy coverage, I believe. If Id realsied that the compressor would actually be useful Id have taken a couple of pictures. I cant remember the exact price, but it was competitive with the Aldi/Lidl kit and it looked better (and theyre alright, as far as I can tell).

Have done the gear level gaiter, one seat and the steering wheel so far and looking a lot better, the steering especially, looks new and it hasnt even had the finisher on, twenty two years of use, gone !

Lol, I will take some photos, when I do the drivers seat, unfortunately I didnt take photos of the gear gaiter and steering wheel beforehand but we all know what a well worn 944 steering wheel looks like, I was doing the gear gaiter and the wife asked me, I said "Painting my knob black", apparently I am not in the least amusing.

It is getting out there really, car had 2 inches of slush on it, went to do another coat on the wheel and got out only to receive a sizable blob down my collar for my troubles.

Seats are done and look pretty damn good, will post some pictures when I get the bloody gears working.

Cost sixty quid for the kit, oh, plus another hundred and sixty for a compressors as the one with the kit didn't work.

Didn't need to, I just told her and she was ok with it. Those Halfords Flexible ratchet spanners are a godsend for this job, speed it up no end, £47 well spent.

My mate came round and was I think expecting seats that look like they had been hammerited, was impressed to say the least, just need to get the bloody thing driving.

Then it needs a service, belts, investigate the occasional oil drip onto exhaust and the crispy bits attending to
