Seat position settings

Hello all, picked up my 'new' yr 2000 996TT today but there was no owners manual with it, so this has been ordered by the dealer and will follow on. In the meantime, everytime I lock the car and open it again, the seats move to a preset position. How do I reset this so that the key's openning mechanism is atuned to my seat position?

I am sure this is a general question, but as I am now one of 'the few', I thought I'd post on this forum!

Rgds, Brin

put key in ignition, set seat up, press and hold m button (if i remember right!) and then the key one and then release both after 5secs or so should do it.;)

Congratulations Brin,

To change the presets, get in the car, switch the ignition on. Then set the seats and mirrors to your liking (keep it in reverse while u do this if you want the nearside mirror to automatically dip as you reverse to help with parking).

When you are happy, press the 'M' Button and the key symbol for around 3 seconds. (These buttons will be found on the floor between the drivers seat and the door, beside the boot/bonnet open buttons). Now when you unlock the car the seats will return/stay in that position. You can also do the same with the '1' button or '2' button whilst depressing the 'M' button, to store seat/mirror settings seperate to the key.

U will most likely have 2 or more keys, and u can set each key to have different seat/mirror positions.

Good luck.
