Both were new-newish and the colour was very red. My friend owned one a year or two ago and it was more of a dirty-browny oxblood boot polish colour now, and the soft trim was similarly dulled. If you look at the colour in the Werk924 link you will see how bright the blue and white is. This is how the cars looked when new, but it will stand out like a sore thumb now. The material in your link may be darker in an attempt to match or it might be a poor photo (blues and reds are very difficult to digitally photograph). If the former then Im sceptical. Better to buy sufficient material to remake both front covers. Even where the rears and the door cards, if optioned, are still dull, they usually look good enough to look right.

I have a couple of seat repairs to arrange. The first is to the passenger seat as below, and the trimer needs me to source the material.

My car exterior paint/code is Glacier Blue Merallic//U1U1, interior material/colour is Marine Blue Leatherette, Leather/Pinstripe seats. Before I jump into a purchase, does anyone know the approximate size I'd need? I thought about just getting 0.5m, but I may need larger depending on the direction of the stripe.

Also, is this the right stuff to get? I'm finding it hard to find sufficient information to be sure. If it is, are there any better/cheaper places to buy from? Will the new material look substantially different to the old, as in not faded, plusher, etc?

The other repair is to the drivers side, but the trimmers seems to think he'll find a very good match for it.

Despite what the photos imply, the seats are actually dark blue!

So I either spend a few hundred on material and have both front seats and backs done, or I have one seat a different shade to the rest! Perhaps I could invest some time in a thorough upholstery clean if I just get the seat done.

A pair of new fronts alone seldom look bad or worng. Youll need about a linear metre per seat, I think.

I'm not convinced that GG Fabric mentioned [link=http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=612442&mpage=1&key=%F2%95%A1%9A]here[/link] exist anymore as I cannot find any mention of them online (even on yell). I had also previously looked at [link=http://www.southbound.plus.com/southbound/images/materials/CCF27102011_00000.jpg]this chart on Southbound Trimmers[/link] but the blue and white pinstripe only lists it against 911 and 928, and I don't want to spend money on something I'm not sure about. I am planning on calling the to see what they can supply though. Just over half-way down the [link=http://www.werk924.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=26]werk924[/link] page they do mention blue - white pinstripe, which again I'll need to verify with them before I order. It does look very blue though, and mine doesn't! That pretty much prompted my questions really, as every website I've seen shows vastly different shades and the blue and white pinstripe!

Elliott has a nice set of seats if I decide to change them too. So, I need to decide whether I can clean the seats up so replacing the seat doesn't stand out too much, change all the material in both front seats, or change the front seats.

Really? Theirs looks too blue because it is new! Yours likes like it does because it has had over 20yrs of UV, use and dirt. Your seats didnt look anything like that when it was new.

Yeah Simon, that's what I'm thinking too, which means retrimming both front seats! At that cost, good second hand ones may be cheaper

You might be able to get away with new squabs on both sides, as neither will stand out from the opposite side, if you see what I mean?

I had the same issue. I bought a fairly good pair of matching seats and got the trimmers to make two perfects seats and sold the other two in all it cost me £50 after I sold the seats back on.

It's the passenger seat/squab that's knackered, the drivers outer bolster is pretty bad, but the trimmer can replace that with a good match. Thanks for all the advice though guys, I'm not going to waste any time cleaning and hoping that new material blends in. It's either good replacement seats (not all the electrics on the drivers seat work anyway) or get both the front seat fabric changed.

I have the same coloured seats in my 944 Turbo and ordered enough material/leatherette and piping to do a full re-trim if it was ever needed. My seats are perfect, but I expect the material to become no longer available at some point in the future so got some for 'stock' [] I got mine from Southbound and found them exceptional to deal with []
