Seat back wires

Took the seat backs out today in preparation for recolouring the leather and was surprised to find two wires connecting the backs to the bases. I couldn't find any connectors I could get to so I had to cut the wires. The seats each have two 4 way switches but not lumbar adjustment or seat heating switches. One wire is black and the other grey. Anyone know what they are for?


 
From having mine apart last week the black wire (the black part is just heat shrink, should be 4 or 6 wires inside, can't remember) is for the lumber support and the grey was for heat.

Do you have a seperate relay under the seat if so this is for heat.

On a separate note I was surprised to find all the seat connectors were Mercedes Benz parts!! Is this normal?

Put the seats back in today and found that the electric adjustment of the back tilt didn't work. Reconnected the wires I had cut and all ok. Obviously the motor must be in the backrest itself and not in the seat base as I had assumed.
