screen washer not working

[FONT=verdana,geneva"]The screen and headlamp washers on my S2 have stopped working. I have tried direct wiring both pumps and they are healthy. I assume a problem with the wiring. Relay/fuses appear ok.

Any thoughts/ideas? I have downloaded the electrical circuits - but dabbling with this is not my forte!

It could be the steering column switches. I had the same problem on my S2 about 10 years ago and it needed new column switches/ stalks.
 
If direct wiring seems to solve it, then it has to be fuses, relays, wiring or switches. Work through methodically ...

It may not help, but I found that the wiring to one of the pumps fouled slightly on the pop-up headlights on my S2, and hence when you operated the headlights it would pull the wiring off the pump slightly - enough to stop it from working. Pushing the plug back on and re-routing the wiring solved the problem.

Yup. It's all down to databases not talking to each other. McNulty has a good explanation for it.

(I just don't pay my menbership fees, 'cos I'm not a member! Same end result really ... )

I've not put a sticky to the "why am i a non-member" thread on the "general" forum, but maybe it's time I did? I don't want the forum to have a whole page of stickies to wade through before the intersting stuff starts!

I assume the intersting stuff will start one day.......[8|]
