SC Speedo Stopped Working

The speedo and mileage have both stopped working, is this something that might have ceased or something that might need replacing?

Agree with previous but check the connectors at the back of the speedo are in place - speedo just pulls out (as just a push fit) to check. I dislodged mine when working on the aerial cables.

On mine it was only the odometer and mileage, caused by the internal gear failing. If everything stops working IMHO it will be the sender, but could be the wiring on the rear of the speedo if you've been fiddling under the dash - replacing lamps etc.
Hope you find the fault, and please let us know what it was, so we'll know better next time, thanks.

I've currently got the same problem, and have had it before. In my case the speedo became erratic - not registering anything until about 40-50mph, then dancing around inaccurately. Now it's stopped altogether. I think that sounds like the sender as I've had the cog problem too and that just stopped the odo and trip from working.

I also remember some chat about it being a symptom of a failing alternator when we discussed this here when I was having the problem before, so it might be worth testing that (I might be mixing that up with an erratic tachometer problem I was having too. It was a long time ago!)
