sachs vs power friction clutch disc - any experience

Hello all. I need to do some work on my 1991 S2 clutch (95k Kilometers) primarily due to release bearing and guide tube. Options are sachs clutch kit or kits with PowerFriction disc and sachs pressure plate/TO bearing. the PowerFriction discs claim 30% more clamping power and significantly more lining. Anyone tried these discs? Worth using or does the larger disc create problems?

Or - anyone used Spec clutch kits?
My use is as a road car - don't really race it (although if the clutch/trans works better I might be inclined to try a track day :)

Used the slightly uprated Sachs clutch in both race cars I have had,feels slightly more heavy but is drivable on the road,for what you are talking about I would go for the standard Sachs clutch,it's proven and it will cope with the occasional track day and feel refined in road use.
 
I'd stick with the standard clutch on an S2 Bruce. There is no real need for any extra clamping force and the standard one is known to last an awful long time before having any sort of problem
 
Ok - Thanks Markk and Paul. I did a bit more research on the Spec clutches and seems to be trouble with those. I'll stick with the standard Sachs then.
 
Not sure if the upgraded clutches that you are considering are regarded as Paddle clutches (full race clutches) but my car had a Paddle clutch fitted when I bought it and I got it changed. The reason was the clutch had turned into an 'on / off' button. Were I to drive on the road and get caught in traffic I'd have to leave 50 yard + gaps before attempting to pull up to the car in front and this would involve 2,500+ revs and a lurch followed by heavy braking. Made me look like a learner driver with 'kangaroo petrol'!

A bad clutch can ruin the enjoyment of a good car in my opinion. Take care.
